From heartbreak to a literal “hole in my heart” life certainly has a way to continue delivering the punches.
And if you’re like me you don’t let it get you down.
In fact it’s taught me one of my most important lessons that might just fly in the face of fashion itself. More on that in a little bit.
But first…
A quote the Uber-Talented Artist and Stage Designer Es Devlin:
“My canvas tends to be devoid of light. You sort of do need to start without light, to find it.”
And a quote from Carl Jung:
“One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.”
Well aren’t those two quotes rather heavy and strikingly profound…
So why the heck am I (the head of an international fashion house) talking about them?
Because this is the part of fashion that people often want to ignore.
It’s easy to always look at the light, the bright, and the playful. Heck it’s even a whole lot of fun.
But true creativity comes from being able to stare into the abyss of darkness and let it wash over you. getting lost in what you don’t know, can’t see yet, and aren’t fully aware of. Knowing you’ll come out the other side stronger, braver, and more YOU than ever before.
True Creativity comes from THE UNKNOWN.
Now, I know you’ve already experienced this yourself…
You’re an incredibly successful, sophisticated, and creative woman.
I’m merely letting you know that you’re not alone.
And it’s those grey hairs, those barely noticeable wrinkles next to your eyes, and a lifetime of accomplishments that can fuel your inner creativity.
In fact, it’s how I call forth creativity into my discussions, workshops, and retreats.
AND my Elite VIP Members absolutely love it.
There’s something about being able to share that experience with others who are on the same level as you that just makes the energy that much more transformational.
I encourage you to give it a try.
In fact, if you’d like to join us during one of our next gatherings just let me know and I’ll get you all the details.
Sincerely,
Susan
